UPDATE : The release of Patch V.2.4.0 has been delayed to fix some bugs. The time of release is still unknown.

You've probably run into a few issues playing Fortnite this past week. Epic since solved a lot of those issues, however, Epic is still working to solve a couple of building related problems. Epic knows this is affecting a lot of you and are working to resolve this as quickly as they can.
On top of that, V.2.4.0 brings in bug fixes for Battle Royale and some fun new additions for Save the World. Now Fortnite has the Cozy Campfire and Expedition modes!



Minigun



Introducing the Minigun! With this new addition, control the battlefield with pure firepower to Battle Royale.

Cozy Campfire

Heal yourself and allies with the all-new Cozy Campfire addition to. Keep warm and healthy and share stories with friends around you.

General

Bug Fixes
  • Fixed a problem that some users unnecessarily queue for queue time when logging in to the game.
  • Fix some users have to wait for the queue to wait after the queue timer has finished.

Battle Royale

Weapons

  • MiniGun
    • Found in Chests and Supply drops
    • Fire rate comparable to SMG
    • Uses Light ammo
  • Suppressed Pistol
    • Reduced drop chances of Epic by 20%.
    • Reduced drop chances of Legendary by 33%.

Gameplay

  • Added “Controller AutoRun” option.
    • Enables/disables the autorun feature on the controller.
    • The autorun introduced in v2.3.0 is enabled by double-clicking the left thumb on the controller.
Bug Fixes
  • Fixed some landscape areas that used to have almost no floor height.
    • This sometimes made most of the buildings underground.
  • Players can now shoot past the goal of football.

General

  • Added “3D Resolution” slider to Video options on PC and Mac.
    • This new option allows you to set the resolution of the 3D world without affecting the user interface
    • The range is between 640x360 and your chosen display resolution. Using a lower 3D resolution can greatly increase the frame rate.
    • Choosing the overall quality option automatically selects the appropriate 3D resolution.
Bug Fixes
  • Fixed client crash triggered by audio prompt.
  • Fixed a problem that prevented the player from unmuting other players on the lobby screen.
  • Fixed an issue that resulted in an incorrect character model being displayed on the lobby screen.
  • Fix the problem of protruding the entire wall while watching the gate.

Performance

Bug Fixes
  • Fixed possible client connection issues when Chug Jug was found in the game.
  • Improve engine performance to handle collision overlap events.
  • Reduce the use of network bandwidth when players walk, and when they stand

UI

Spectating
  • Added audience counting UI in HUD. When there is a positive audience, this looks like a little eye in the lower left corner. Best not to know? There is also an option to disable this feature under the game option labeled "Show audience count".
Bug Fixes
  • Removed unnecessary button tips to the left of the news widget.
  • When you select a product on the console, a border highlight is added around the product tile.
  • Fixed an issue that allowed the opening of the old trap picker circular menu. This circular menu is no longer used to select traps.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the weapon icon to not appear correctly on hotkeys under certain conditions.
  • Fixed a few black spots on the map and minimap.
  • Fixed a hero's floor that did not appear when previewing a locker at a locker or at an item store
  • Fixed a situation where the expression was viewed continuously.

Art/Animation

  • Optimize the rare color effects of weapons and objects to improve overall performance.
    • Colors may look slightly different.
Bug Fixes
  • Correct the 15 second Chug Jug project drinking speed animation.

Audio

Bug Fixes
  • If you aim at them, improve the space for the booty chest audio by increasing the audio volume.
  • Remove static audio from your living room TV.
  • Fixed directional audio issue when another player switched to shotgun.
  • Removed from the dance expression footsteps.

World

Bug Fixes
  • Correct the missing collisions on the windows assets in the tilted tower.
  • Fixed jagged landscape in mid-range.
  • Corrected flashing artifacts sometimes are seen on rivers when traveling by bus.
  • Fixed an issue that generated two items at the same location near Lonely Lodge.
  • Fixed some seams in the south of Anarchy  Acre.
  • Prohibit the collision of the wine in the Moist Mire.

Fixed Issues

  • When you quickly enter build mode and swap building blocks, incorrect artifacts may be highlighted
  • Mac clients cannot see a sniper or a limited range of AR oscilloscope markers
  • Using a cozy bonfire in the lobby before exiting the bus seems to give the player a full barrier on the health bar
  • The player's name in the game will not appear while watching
  • PS4 resolution is significantly lower than in the past.


Save the World

Highlights

Context Sensitive menus are live!
You can use more options when interacting with items in Hero Squad, Survivor Squads, and Armory. Schematic and staff can be added directly to the book!
Cozy Campfire
  • Allies and defenders in the 3x3 Tiles area around the campfire heal over time. It lasted until the fire forces consumed their durability. Activities store provides a comfortable diagram of campfire activities.
Two New Expedition Types
  • People's Movement: A free expedition that allows you to collect a small number of people (resources).
  • Trap Run: These expeditions will allow you to collect traps through expeditions.
  • Balance some changes in existing expeditions.
    • Improved rewards, with slightly lower power costs.
    • Epic continuing to iterate to make this better! Please tell us what you think!

Heroes

Bug Fixes
  • The anti-matter shooting box will hit the enemy in front of the layman more reliably when activated.
  • Fixed treatment visuals that could not be properly removed when treating players from BASE MD
    • Additionally, the healing effect is now periodic instead of being applied as soon as you touch the affected BASE.

Missions

Bug Fixes
  • Husks from encampments don't spawn under the terrain.

UI

Bug Fixes
  • Fixed an issue that caused the user interface to migrate in the area of a heavily overflow Storm Shield store.

  • Update Fragment Grenade Tooltip to reflect recent changes, keep and cluster bombs.
    • Cluster Bomb: Releases 6 cluster explosions around the impact site that will each do 25% of the original damage.
    • Keep Out!: Leaves a residual energy field, doing 15% of the initial grenade blast damage every 1 second, over 10 seconds.
  • Update Heart Rate Allowance Tool Tips to correctly display 15 instead of 13 basic healing levels.
  • Fix a lot of incorrect tooltips

General

  • Some camels were removed from store rotation: double llama, Filipino llama, six pack llama, Niner llama.
    • The 3, 7 and 10 versions of this Llama still exist. This was done to focus on a smaller number of variants of this llama type.
  • The number of initial munitions was readjusted as the long-range weapons were picked up around the world.

Fixed Issues

  • The legendary hero transformation key guard has a key image and description
  • Heroes and defender art do not show up when inspecting them from the armory
